Is it Cheaper to Build or to Renovate?

Generally, renovations or remodeling are still by far cheaper. Even when talking about transformation renovations or ultimate renovations, these two areas still fall on the cheaper side than building a new home.

The art of renovations or remodeling has been lost over the last 16 to 25 years. It’s now all about commodity, for-profits, which is not new., except for the general public is now almost an equal portion to developers cashing in on the real-estate boom.

How Do You Renovate a House?

You will need beer, pizza and wings, a few friends who are bored to death that you can take advantage of, some tools, materials and oh, oh, music….. need some music.

Preferably do the day’s work first, then enjoy your treats, because the other way around, your wife or hubby, depending on who’s the adventurous one, will beat you up because that turns into a get-together, and nothing is getting done! Reaching pinnacle renovations, ya probably not going to happen.

Does PelionMark Build New Homes?

PelionMark is a federally registered corporation, and we work across Canada. We are licensed and can make new home additions up to 75 percent of your current floor space, which is quite a lot. We currently do not build new homes in BC.

You can build as an Owner-Builder under BC’s new laws and requirements. PelionMark can consult and assist you with your project so long as we follow the Owner-Builder requirements and stay within the rules.

Do You Do Fire and Flood Restorations?

We are not a fire and flood type of company per se. We do not work with or for insurance policy holders. This sort of event usually has an insurer and companies in place for the restoration process.

Unfortunately, sometimes, insurance was not taken out on a home, forcing owners to pay out of pocket for home restorations. This is where we come in.

With a solid history and experience of building and renovating across Canada, we also work with restoration in the sense of homes built in earlier times like 1906 as an example or need to match the earlier building processes.
